Our first significant snowfall of the season will fall for the first time in February. The snow will fall between 2-8-17 and 2-9-17 and will leave much of the Lehigh Valley with 6+ inches of snow. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from 10pm Wednesday Night until 6pm Thursday night.

Snow will start late on Wednesday night but sooner to the West of the Lehigh Valley and closer to daybreak the farther east you go. This will make the Thursday Morning commute and possibly the afternoon commute dangerous. Snowfall rates will be 1-2 inches an hour and even though it has been warm, the cold will overtake and allow the snow to stick to all surfaces fast.

Winds will be 10-20 mph with gusts as high as 30-35 mph. The farther South you travel, the less snow there will be with a changeover to rain in Southern NJ.

More updates will be posted during the storm. A forecast of snowfall projections is below. Stay sage Lehigh Valley.
