Do you enjoy the Pocono Mountains peace and tranquility? Well how about a little change in the normal hustle and bustle of the urban areas and take a train ride through the Pocono mountains this coming winter. The Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society has announced their holiday train rides. The rides will start on November 26th and go for 3 weekends leaving the historic Dansbury Depot in East Stroudsburg, Pa. This is just a short ride North and easily accessible off Interstate 80!
Train to Christmas Past
Choose a morning or afternoon trip from East Stroudsburg to Gouldsboro, Pa aboard climate controlled cars including our City of Lima Pullman car and our Phoebe Snow dining car.
The trips will be round trip with a stop at the historic Gouldsboro train station, giving everyone an opportunity to explore the restored station. At the Gouldsboro station, the passengers will a Dickensian world of A Christmas Carol with the volunteers dressed in period-authentic costumes that will feature Christmas carols, stories, Santa, Scrooge and his ghostly visitors!

Running Santa trains in the morning prior to the afternoon run of the Christmas Past train will be the Santa train on December 3rd & 4th. They will also run this as a special event for the Eastburg Winter Fair on Saturday, December 10th. Come and visit the historic Dansbury Depot, listen to musicians and carolers before boarding one of the four trains on December 10th. Santa and his helpers will visit each child on board this special train! The train will run from East Stroudsburg to Slateford, Pa. and back.
