Honor our fallen officers this Christmas
Place a blue candle light in your window and honor an officer that did not make it home this year for Christmas. Killings of police officers are up and by placing a blue candle light in your window, you are showing honor for those that sacrificed their life to serve our community. Officers enjoy seeing the blue candle in the windows as they are out on night patrol. Pick up a blue candle from where Christmas and holiday decorations are sold. Let’s display as many blue lights as possible in the Lehigh Valley.
About Project Blue Light:
Project Blue Light is a nationwide recognition of those law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. It began in 1988 in Philadelphia when Dolly Craig wrote a letter to COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors) stating that she would be honoring her late son-in-law, Philadelphia Police Officer Danny Gleason, during the holiday season by placing a blue light in her window.
Project Blue Light of Midland County has expanded this recognition to honor, revere and remember law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other emergency service personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We thank you, and we salute you.
