Coroner called to the scene of a brush fire in Tamaqua Sunday, one person confirmed dead

TAMAQUA, Pa -The Schuylkill County Coroner's Office was called to the scene of a brush fire near Tamaqua on Sunday afternoon.

One person was found dead, according to WFMZ News.




According to Schuylkill County dispatchers, the coroner was dispatched to a fire in the 200 block of Owl Creek Road around 12:30 p.m.


Two fire companies from Tamaqua also responded to the scene, according to dispatchers.


The fire was under control by 12:48 p.m.


No information is available about property damage, according to dispatchers.
