An 88-year-old man from Ohio had his Christmas wish come true

An 88-year-old man from Ohio had his dream come true with the help of others in his community.

On Friday, November 24, Gene, a 70-year resident of Mentor on the Lake was surprised by family members as well as members of his community.

Gene planted a sapling that his son brought home from school on Arbor Day 40 years ago, and it grew into a magnificent tree at his home.

For years Gene has had a dream of having lights placed on this tree. Finally, his dream came true with the help of others.

Donations were made, and the tree was decorated and lit for the very first time.

Gene was overwhelmed with emotion seeing that the community made his dream come true..
