BANGOR, Pa. — All Bangor Area School District schools were closed Friday due to a car accident that knocked down a utility pole near the district's main offices.
According to a message on the school district's website and tweet from Superintendent William Haws, the accident took place on Five Points Richmond Road between Route 512 and School Road.
Superintendent William Haws tweet stated, "Good Morning. Due to a traffic accident on Five Points Richmond Rd. The Bangor Area School District and offices will be closed today."
The message on the district's website read as of 5:40 a.m. Friday. "Today is not a Flexible Instruction Day," "All schools and offices are closed today. The district has no power today due to a traffic accident on Five Points Richmond Road."
It is not clear what led to the accident, but officials say no one was injured in the crash.
