Authorities investigate homicide of 37-year-old Slatington man; investigation continues

Authorities are investigating a homicide in the Slatington area.


According to a news release from the Lehigh County Coroner's office, 37-year-old David Hittinger was pronounced dead on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 10:40 pm.


The manner of death is being ruled a homicide, according to the coroner.


The Coroner's office is not releasing the location at this time and an autopsy

will be completed on Friday.



The Pennsylvania State Police were conducting an active investigation in Slatington Borough for several days.


According to WFMZ News, state troopers were seen searching multiple locations throughout the Slatington area, including a home and nearby woods.


This multi-agency investigation remains active and ongoing and includes the Pennsylvania State Police, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, and the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office. - No further details are being released at this time.


Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan will hold a news conference at noon on Friday, May 17, to give details about the ongoing investigation.
