According to officials at Disneyland, a woman died after suffering a suspected heart attack while on the Haunted Mansion ride on Monday.

The guest, described as a woman in her 60s, was on board the attraction Monday evening when she was found unresponsive at the end of the ride, according to the Orange County Register.

Disneyland security administered CPR to the woman until paramedics from Anaheim Fire & Rescue arrived and transported her to a nearby hospital, where she later died.

The official cause of death will be determined by the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner, according to the Anaheim Police Department.

About the Haunted Mansion:

Debuting in 1969, The Haunted Mansion is one of Disneyland's iconic attractions. It guides visitors through a manor brimming with scares.  The ride is slow-paced and designed for guests of all ages.

The park's website states, “The Haunted Mansion is dark and contains some mildly frightening scenes, but there is no gore. The ghostly residents are friendly and the ride is slow-moving.”

There are Haunted Mansion rides at the Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom park in Florida, at Tokyo Disneyland, and at Disneyland Paris.

The death comes just weeks after a man died from blunt force injuries while riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Florida’s Epic Universe theme park.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and loved ones.
