Kate Middleton reveals cancer diagnosis, undergoing chemotherapy treatment

In an announcement on Friday, Kate Middleton revealed that she is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer.

The 42-year-old royal learned of her diagnosis after undergoing “major abdominal surgery” back in January at the London Clinic.

Kate said in a videotaped statement, “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present”

"My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to

process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.” Middleton has three children - Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

The princess did not reveal what type of cancer she is battling.

News of her diagnosis follows weeks of speculation about the Princess of Wales’ health.

At the time of her surgery, Kensington Palace had only disclosed the operation was a success and that the royal had spent two weeks at the hospital recuperating.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kate Middleton as well as her family.
