They did not specify what type of cancer King Charles has, but they did note that his hospital procedure in January for an enlarged prostate was a "separate issue of concern."

Buckingham Palace says. King Charles will undergo a schedule of cancer treatments and during this time he will postpone his "public-facing duties."

The monarch says he feels "wholly positive" about his treatment and will "continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual".

The King attended a church service for the first time since his treatment in hospital on Sunday at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham alongside Camilla.

This is a developing story.
