BETHLEHEM, PA -
On Friday, Lehigh University Police Department announced the unexpected passing of Officer Mark Ferencin, Badge #817 on social media .
They wrote, "It is with great sadness that we inform the Lehigh University community of the unexpected passing of Officer Mark Ferencin, Badge #817.
Mark served the Lehigh community honorably for over 19 years.
Prior to his service at Lehigh, Mark served his home community of Fountain Hill as a police officer and also worked as an officer in Mount Rainier, Maryland. In total, he worked for over 30 years in policing."

Lehigh University Police expressed their deepest condolences to Mark’s wife, Angela, his parents, his brother, and to all who knew and loved him. Mark will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues at Lehigh. they said.
