M. Emmet Walsh, 'Knives Out' and 'Blade Runner' actor, dies at age 88

Actor M. Emmet Walsh, who was well-known for “Knives Out,” “Blade Runner” and “Raising Arizona,” passed away on Tuesday, according to Variety.


Walsh’s manager Sandy Joseph confirmed that he passed away at Kerbs Memorial Hospital in St. Albans, Vt.


Wash was born on March 22, 1935 in Ogdensburg, New York, and raised in rural Swanton, Vermont.

Walsh made his screen debut in the 1969 film “Alice’s Restaurant” and ultimately appeared in over 220 film and television roles in addition to theatre roles, according to IMDb.


His Broadway debut came in 1969, when he starred alongside Al Pacino in “Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie?”


He played Harrison Ford's boss, "Blade Runner" in addition to” Ridley Scott’s 1982 science fiction cult classic, his supporting role in “Blood Simple” and the Cohen Brothers.


On television, Walsh played numerous guest-star roles in series such as “The Bob Newhart Show,” “Frasier,” “NYPD Blue” and “The X-Files”.


He is survived by his nephew Kevin Walsh (Renee), his niece, Meagan Walsh, and grandnephews, Elliot and Emmet.
