Multiple people shot and injured in Lexington Sunday, including State Trooper

LEXINGTON, KY. - UPDATE - Two women were killed in a shooting at a Kentucky church Sunday in an incident that began after a state trooper was shot and wounded, according to authorities.
Police are investigating a shooting that happened in Lexington, Kentucky, on Sunday afternoon.
The shooting first took place at Blue Grass Airport and involved a state trooper, according to police.
The suspect shot a trooper and then fled the scene and ended up at Richmond Road Baptist Church, according to reports.
Police say there are multiple victims at the church, and the suspect is dead.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear posted in X, “Kentucky, we are aware of a series of incidents in Lexington around one suspect, including a trooper-involved shooting and an additional shooting at Richmond Road Baptist Church with multiple injuries. The trooper and others are being treated at a nearby hospital.”
He said, “Please pray for everyone affected by these senseless acts of violence, and let’s give thanks for the swift response by the Lexington Police Department and Kentucky State Police. Details are still emerging, and we will share more information as available.”
