COCHRANVILLE, Pa - According to the Pennsylvania State Police, an elderly man and woman were hospitalized Sunday following a home explosion in southern Chester County.
It occurred at a residence in Cochranville, Pennsylvania around 9:15 a.m.
Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to the 1500 block of Limestone Road after receiving reports of a blaze, according to WPVI.
Upon arrival, they discovered heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the building, according to officials.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, a 70-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman were taken to Jefferson Hospital.
There is no word yet on the extent of their injuries.
Investigators have stated that the home was completely destroyed, and excavators demolished the remaining structure after the fire was extinguished.
