21-year-old man seriously injured after being hit by a car on Route 378; Police seek public's help

BETHLEHEM, Pa - The Bethlehem Police Department is investigating an accident that involved a pedestrian.


On Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 2:40 am, the Bethlehem Police Department received several calls reporting an accident on Route 378 northbound in the area of the Main St. ramp.



It was reported that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle, and was down in the roadway, according to police.


Arriving officers located a 21-year-old male in the lane of travel of the highway with serious injuries.


The male was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg for treatment, according to police. Police say his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.


The involved driver stopped at the scene, and is cooperating with the investigation, according to the news release.

 

Route 378 northbound was closed for several hours while police investigated the accident.


The location where the accident occurred is a limited-access highway, and pedestrians are not permitted, according to police.
