LOWER MACUNGIE TWP, Pa - Earlier Monday morning crews responded to a serious crash on Route 222 in Lehigh County.
The accident took place at the intersection of Route 222 and Kressler Road, near I-78 in Lower Macungie Township where a BMW SUV and a tractor-trailer crashed around 10:41 am,
Two people were hurt in the crash.
The driver and passenger in the SUV were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to WFMZ News. The truck driver was not hurt, according to the news report.
Route 222 NB was closed for a couple of hours for the investigation.
Police have not yet said what may have led to the crash.
