An early morning crash knocks out power in Salisbury Twp.

SALISBURY TWP., Pa- Salisbury Township Police have part of Seidersville Road near Fire Lane closed after an accident early Sunday morning.


According to police, a car hit a patch of ice and multiple telephone poles just after 5 a.m.


According to WFMZ News, when police arrived on the scene, there were active wires on the ground.


PPL and Verizon were notified to shut down services, and PennDOT then treated the road. 


Approximately 2,191 customers in Salisbury Township experienced an outage due to the accident, according to PPL


Power was restored within minutes to more than 2,000 customers, but power will not be restored to the remaining 155 customers until 4 pm Sunday, according to WFMZ news.


PPL is still at the scene.


There is a UGI crew onsite to support restoration efforts, according to the news report.


According to a UGI spokesperson, there was no damage to that company's equipment from the accident.


The road was still closed as of 1 p.m, according to WFMZ News.
