At least one person died in Allentown Friday evening due to a fatal crash involving two pedestrians

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Police say at least one person died Friday evening due to a fatal crash involving two pedestrians, according to a Channel 69 News report.


It happened around 8:30 p.m. at West Chew and North Main Streets.


Police taped off the area of the intersection and the roadway was shut down.

There was an SUV behind the tape with significant front-end damage, according to Channel 69 News.


According to the news report, police say the driver remained at the scene of the crash.


There are no further details from police on what happened and the police say that the investigation is active and ongoing, according to WFMZ News.
