City of Allentown announces final design for Center Square Redesign Project

ALLENTOWN, Pa - The City of Allentown announced the final design for the Center Square Redesign Project at 7th & Hamilton.

Based on feedback from public engagement last summer, the design includes enhanced paving and new street trees, green spaces, and public art.

Center Square is the historic center of downtown Allentown marked by the iconic Soldiers and Sailor's Monument. It's the center of festivals, parades, and daily life.

According to the City, the design embodies the goals of their Vision 2030 Plan, as well as the 2016 Art & Nature Landscape Development Framework Plan, and celebrates the centrality of the monument while prioritizing the natural flow of traffic and pedestrian safety around it.

They anticipate that the project will be completed by 2025.
