LITITZ, Pa. - A plane crash occurred around 8 am Sunday in a field near the 500 block of Stauffer Road in Warwick Township. It crashed several hundred yards northeast of the Lancaster Airport, according to the Northern Lancaster County Regional police.
The crash took the life of 58-year-old Musaddiq Nazeeri of Lebanon, according to the Coroner's office. He was pronounced dead at 8:51 a.m. when the coroner arrived at the scene. He was the only occupant.
The plane was a PA-46-500TP Malibu Meridian. It was registered N819MA, according to officials.
Nazeeri was scheduled to travel to State College Regional Airport in Centre County, according to radio communication between the airport and pilot prior to takeoff.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash and anticipate releasing a preliminary report in 30 days.
The coroner's office said Sunday it has scheduled an autopsy, and Nazeeri's cause of death is pending.
Federal Aviation Administration records show the plane was built in 2015 and was owned by Same Day Service Corp. in Lewes, Delaware.
Who was Nazeeri?
Nazeeri was a family physician and his Lebanon city practice, Nazeeri Family Medicine, posted online about his death late Sunday night, saying they were working out the logistics of the office in the coming days.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Dr. Nazeeri, who died today in a tragic plane crash,” the post read. “Dr. Nazeeri was not only a dedicated physician but also a compassionate caregiver and the pillar of this practice. His loss is immeasurable and felt deeply by all of us.”
According to Lancaster Online, on Friday, Nazeeri’s wife filed a Protection from Abuse Order against him to keep him away from her and their 16-year-old son.
Nazeeri’s wife claimed her husband sexually abused her for years and threw cognac and coffee in her face. She said he lunged at her when she was searching for the address of a law practice that was suing him. No details of a lawsuit were available Monday morning, according to the news report.

It's the second plane crash in Lancaster County this year.
The NTSB is asking witnesses to the crash or anyone with surveillance video or other information that could be relevant to the investigation to contact investigators at witness@ntsb.gov.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends, family, and loved ones, as well as all those at his medical practice.
A little bit about me (LoriLee) and WGOLV - What's going on in the Lehigh Valley:
I have been doing this to help the community for over 14 years. I'm a mom of four children, I absolutely adore them. I started this to help educate, inform, and keep the community safe through news, information - helping to provide community support to those in need - get word out on donations drives - animal rescues - missing persons, missing pets, Veterans organizations, canines, Mounted Patrol, first responders, and more. It's been a passion of mine to help people - using my time, talent, and treasures, so to speak.
WGOLV is all self-funded. I do this all myself, excluding some moderators checking for spam etc, and an occasional news article that someone might help with.
Your support through donations, fundraising is very important - even subscribing to the Facebook page of What's going on in the Lehigh Valley is so important. Through there, you can also receive discounts on advertising, behind-the-scenes information, and coffee meet-ups to discuss ideas, events. There is no corporate funding or big donors like many other local news publications have - We rely on the community. Your support means so much!
Student interns are always welcome and a great way to give back to your community while receiving credits for working with a local publication. There are so many opportunities. Volunteer opportunities are available as well. Some paid positions will also be available in the near future - event planning, coordination, marketing, and even travel. If you are interested, please reach out to me via e-mail at lorilee@wgolv.com.
Thank you!
