NORTHAMPTON BOROUGH, Pa. - A fire severely damaged two homes in Northampton Borough Monday morning.
Two homes on Stark Street caught fire at around 5 a.m.
Daishiale Santos lives next door and was the first one to see what was happening.
Santos told WFMZ, "At first I thought I was dreaming, because I heard like a crackling pop, and I had got up to use the bathroom, came to lay back down, and I looked out the window and all you seen was just flames coming out the top of the house."
Santos quickly realized she needed to get help.

"I just banged on my mom's door, we called right away, and they told us to evacuate. Then my stepdad, who is back here, he pulled the lady out of the corner house through the back, and we saved the dog that was in the house next door," Santos told WFMZ.
Within minutes, the Northampton Fire Department was on the scene.
"Yeah, it had fire out of almost every one of the windows," Deputy Fire Chief Andrew Marzen says.
Marzen told WFMZ, thankfully, everyone made it out alive.
"There was nobody in the actual house there. Police were able to get the lady," Marzen said.

As investigators assess the stability of the two buildings, Santos stated her family is unable to return home.
Santos said, "They said it could be anywhere between tomorrow morning or a week from now before we can even go back in our house."
She said the important thing is that everyone is safe - "God was on their side today," Santos said.
Marzen told WFMZ, because the structures are in danger of possibly collapsing, they're going to keep Stark St. closed throughout the day Monday, and possibly longer while they investigate.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
