Hazmat incident PA Turnpike Northeast Extention in Montgomery County closed



Update - The NE extension of I-476 between Mid- County and Landsdale is closed in both directions due to a tanker truck fire. Please avoid the area.


A section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension in Montgomery County is closed due to a hazardous materials incident. Those in the area have reported heavy traffic.


Traffic is stopped both ways on Interstate 476 between Mid-County Exit 20 and Lansdale Exit 31.


Authorities have requested that drivers remain in their vehicles due to the nature of the hazmat incident,

Mid County NB to Lansdale All Traffic Primary Rt - Blue Route I-476 and EB Detour: Take I-276 EB to Ft. Washington Exit #339. Take US 309 NB to PA 63 WB to the Lansdale Interchange. WB I-276 Detour: Exit at Ft. Washington Exit #339. Take US 309 NB to PA 63 WB to the Lansdale Interchange.


Highway Detour I-476 between Lansdale and Mid-County

Lansdale SB to Ft Washington All Traffic Primary Rt - Take State Route 63 East to US Route 309 South. This will bring you to the Ft. Washington Interchange (339/Old 26).
