Legendary is defined as well-known and famous. For most of us at Mahoning Valley Speedway our definition of legendary is George Wambold. Today we received the sad news that “The Legend” has passed away. George will forever be one of the most iconic figures both on and off the track. Rarely has there been a Saturday night, from his days behind the wheel, to becoming a spectator watching from his special viewing spot atop the hill that he was not at Mahoning. George’s legacy is deep-rooted over the past seven decades and he will never be far from our hearts. To his family and legion of fans we send our sincere and deepest condolences.
