Man rescued from third floor of row home in Allentown Wednesday

ALLENTOWN, Pa - A man was rescued from the third floor of a row home in Allentown Wednesday afternoon.


A fire broke out at the 400 block of West Allen Street in downtown Allentown shortly after 1 p.m., according to the Allentown Fire Department.

The fire was initially reported as a second-alarm fire by Lehigh County dispatchers, who reported that someone was hanging out of a third-floor window.


According to the fire department, the man was rescued (from the third floor) of a row home and transported to the hospital. They stated that he is expected to survive.


Three structures were affected by the fire, and two of them are uninhabitable, according to fire crews.


11 people are displaced by the fire, according to the fire department.
