Pennsylvania State Police investigating motor vehicle crash where a marked PSP vehicle was struck

Bristol Township, Bucks County -

The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Troop M Trevose Station is investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Monday, March 20, 2023, where a marked PSP vehicle was struck.


On Monday, March 20, 2023, at 4:56 a.m., Troopers from the PSP Trevose Station were on scene of a disabled vehicle on I-295 Eastbound, Mile Marker 0.7, Bristol Township, Bucks County.


While outside the patrol vehicle, a BMW sedan rear ended the patrol vehicle, causing the patrol vehicle to strike the disabled vehicle and causing a Trooper to jump over the concrete median to avoid being struck, causing minor injuries. The operator of the BMW was injured and transported to Saint Mary’s Medical Center.


Motorists are reminded of the mandates of Title 75 Section 3327, Duty of Driver in Emergency Response Areas and in Relation to Disabled Vehicles, which stipulates requires drivers approaching an emergency response area to move over to a lane farther away. Drivers who are unable to safely merge into a lane farther away from the emergency response area are required to slow to no more than 20 mph below the posted speed limit.
