Police investigate shooting that injured a woman near William Allen High School Wednesday morning

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Police in Allentown are investigating a shooting that took place near William Allen High School Wednesday morning.
At approximately 8:37 am, officers arrived at the intersection of North 18th and Chew streets following a report of a shooting. At the scene, police found an adult female victim with a gunshot wound.
Emergency aid was rendered by officers and the victim was transported to an area hospital for injuries. Police say her injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

During the investigation, two suspects were identified, located, and detained.
The identities of the individuals have not been released.
Investigators say two firearms were also recovered.
Allentown School District officials say the school was on a short lockdown, which was lifted around 9:15 a.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
