Wanted person in custody, scene of shelter in place cleared, and school no longer on lockdown in Macungie

Update:


A shelter-in-place was in effect in Macungie this evening. The scene of the shelter in place is now cleared and the subject is in custody.


According to Lehigh County dispatchers, the subject is in custody as of 10:19 pm, and the scene cleared as of 10:45 p.m., according to WFMZ News.


WFMZ also reported that the wanted man was seen taken into custody by a WMFZ freelancer. 


At this point, authorities are not confirming any information related to the wanted person.



Previous updates:


Eyer Middle School is currently on lockdown, according to WFMZ News, and a roadblock is set up in the area of Buckeye and Brookside roads.


A man told WFMZ that his family members are currently on lockdown inside Eyer Middle School. and that his daughter is there with her family for a dance recital.


According to WFMZ, 250 kids are in the school gym — some of them crying.


WFMZ was told by police that they have eyes on the wanted in the area of a retention pond near the school.

MACUNGIE, Pa -


According to Lehigh County dispatchers and WFMZ News, a shelter-in-place is in effect in Macungie as police look for a wanted person.


Multiple reports stated that police are scattered between old Weis and as far as Eyer Middle School.


One individual commented that they work at Turkey Hill and received a 911 code red telling them to lock their doors. They said when they called the non-emergency police they were told to stay in place or get home as soon as possible and that someone armed and dangerous is in the area.
