Roads closed, business evacuated after a report of a suspicious package in Lower Macungie

L. MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. - UPDATE: Route 100 has now been reopened and the Allentown Bomb Squad has left the scene, according to WFMZ News.

A business in Lehigh County was evacuated and a stretch of Route 100 was closed after the report of a suspicious package Monday, according to WFMZ News. It's since been reopened.


According to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nathan Branosky, a suspicious package was seen at the 8600 block of Congdonhill Drive in Lower Macungie Township.


That's at the Ryder Logistics warehouse, which has been evacuated, Branosky said.




Local roads are being shut down, including Route 100 at Spring Creek Road, according to Branosky.


Capt. John Christopher with the Allentown Fire Department said the Allentown Bomb Squad was also called, according to the article by WFMZ News.
