See smoke? PA Game Commission conducting prescribed fire at Trexler Nature Preserve

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is conducting a 173-acre prescribed fire at Trexler Nature Preserve in Lowhill and North Whitehall Townships, Lehigh County Monday.

The prescribed fire will be occurring south of Trexler and Mill Roads and to the west of Game Preserve Rd.

The burn is being conducted to maintain native grassland habitat by reducing competition from invasive shrubs such as autumn olive, according to the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

Smoke will be visible on the preserve near Diebertsville,Schnecksville, Bittners Corner, and Weidasville between 9:30 AM and 7:30 PM.
