Shelter in Place lifted after active shooter incident in Knowlton Twp., NJ

KNOWLTON TWP., N.J. - Earlier this evening, a shelter-in-place was in effect in northern Warren County, New Jersey. It has now been lifted, according to dispatchers and WFMZ News.


The shelter-in-place started earlier Monday evening for a domestic incident on Columbia Street in Knowlton Township, directly across the Delaware River from Portland, Northampton County, according to WFMZ News.




Dispatchers reported that multiple subjects were shot and the shooter was on foot in the area - They say that around 8:30 pm, the active shooter was taken into custody,


According to a report by WFMZ, the county prosecutor has stated that additional details will be provided soon.


The prosecutor was able to confirm that there was no longer a threat to the public and that two people were taken to the hospital for treatment.
