Community Drive-Thru Shoe Drop-Off Event
MACUNGIE, Pa - A local family is gathering community support to help their five-year-old daughter, Renna, obtain a professionally trained service dog from 4 Paws for Ability.
Renna, who has Pitt-Hopkins syndrome, faces significant challenges with mobility, communication, and safety. A service dog will assist with stability, wandering prevention, sensory regulation, and daily support both at home and in the community.

To help cover the $20,000 cost of the service dog, Renna's Corner has partnered with Funds2Orgs to host a Drive-Thru Shoe Drop-Off Event on Sunday, November 23, from 12 PM to 3 PM at the Alburtis Pool, located at 220 West 2nd Street in Alburtis, PA.
How Does It Work?
Community members are invited to donate gently used or new shoes of any size or style. Donors can simply pull up, pop their trunk, and volunteers will collect the shoes directly from their vehicle.
Through Funds2Orgs, Renna's family will earn money based on the total weight of the shoes collected. Donated shoes are then redistributed to micro-entrepreneurs in developing countries, helping families build sustainable income. This fundraiser supports both Renna and global small-business communities.
"Renna is non-speaking and needs full support in almost every area of daily life, but she is incredibly social and lights up every room," said Brenda Marra, Renna's mom. "A service dog will bring her more safety, independence, and comfort. We are so grateful for everyone who has offered to help."

The Impact of Your Support
Your contributions can make a significant difference in Renna's life. A service dog can provide her with the support she needs to navigate her daily challenges. This assistance can lead to greater independence and a better quality of life for Renna and her family.
Why Service Dogs Matter
Service dogs are specially trained to assist individuals with disabilities. They can help with various tasks, including mobility support, alerting to medical issues, and providing companionship. For children like Renna, a service dog can be a lifeline, offering both practical assistance and emotional support.
Join the Community Effort
The Lehigh Valley community has always been known for its generosity. By participating in this event, you are not only helping Renna but also supporting a broader cause. The shoes collected will help families in developing countries build sustainable businesses, creating a positive impact far beyond our local area.
Your Role in the Fundraiser
Every pair of shoes donated counts. If you cannot make it to the event, consider hosting your own shoe drive. Gather friends, family, or coworkers to collect shoes. The more pairs collected, the greater the impact on Renna's fundraising efforts.
Follow Renna's Journey

Conclusion
Renna's story is a testament to the power of community. Together, we can help her obtain a service dog that will enhance her life and provide her family with the support they need. Join us on November 23 for the Drive-Thru Shoe Drop-Off Event and make a difference today!
WGOLV is a cause to help the Lehigh Valley community. Your donations are greatly appreciated so that we can continue providing you news, events, weather, traffic, breaking news, and so much more—plus crowdfunding for families in need, help our animal rescues, first responders, missing persons and pets—recalls, safety alerts, and much more.
What's going on in the Lehigh Valley is mom-owned and run for nearly 15 years. WGOLV is not backed by corporations or big donors. It's run via donations and advertising only. It's an independent news publication and cause.
Each dollar helps go towards website expenses, gas, and time daily, providing this and the What's going on in the Lehigh Valley Facebook page, helping to answer questions, attend events, and go live at events, fundraisers, and press conferences for the community to enjoy. I also set up snow angels in the winter to help the disabled and veterans.
You may also give monthly if you so desire to help the ongoing efforts of What's going on in the Lehigh Valley. Donations have been basically pretty much at a standstill the last few years, making it very difficult to stay in business. WGOLV will also be having fundraisers to try to remain in business and continue to provide the website and Facebook page—please watch for them. Bus trips are being announced.
It's been a very difficult time and donations are practically nonexistent making it difficult to provide all the content we have for years. I will have to try fundraisers again come Spring.
Thank you!!
