Update: one dead and least nine injured at Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade

UPDATE - One dead and nine were injured today at the Kansas City Chief's Super Bowl parade, according to reports.


The Kansas City Fire Department said three victims were in critical condition, while five others suffered serious injuries. One person was listed as stable, according to KMOX St. Louis News.

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department is responding to a shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs victory rally.


"Shots have been fired around Union Station. Please leave the area," police advised on social. "Officers are working to clear Union Station itself. We will release everyone inside the building once that is complete. We are still trying to determine the number of shooting victims."


The shooting took place shortly after 2:00 pm and was reported to have come from a garage just west of Union Station, where multiple people were struck.



The Kansas City Fire Department also confirmed a shooting happened and is calling it a "fluid situation."


There is a heavy police presence in the area.


The parade is set to begin at 12 p.m. ET followed by a victory rally at Union Station.
