What is West Nile Virus?
West Nile virus is primarily transmitted by infected mosquitoes that usually bite and infect wild birds, but they can also spread the virus to humans, horses, and other mammals.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection collaborates with all 67 counties for mosquito surveillance and control.
The Lehigh Conservation District oversees the management of this program.
In the case of rain, the operation will be rescheduled for Thursday, July 18.
