BETHLEHEM, Pa - The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Troop M – Bethlehem announced
the results of a Troop wide traffic enforcement detail which was conducted on Tuesday, October
22, 2024, throughout the Troop M (Lehigh, Northampton, and Bucks Counties) coverage area.
Results of the Troop wide traffic enforcement detail:
• 178 Traffic Citations
• 56 Warnings
• 2 Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Arrests
• 2 Drug Possession Arrests
• 1 Individual with an Outstanding Warrant
The objective of this operation was to conduct aggressive, visible enforcement resulting in
increased highway safety.
Motorists are also reminded of the mandates of Title 75 Section 3733, Fleeing or Attempting to
Elude Police Officer, which stipulates that any driver of a motor vehicle who willfully fails or
refuses to bring their vehicle to a stop, or who otherwise flees or attempts to elude a pursuing
police officer, commits an offense, graded up to a Felony of the 3rd Degree, which carries a
maximum sentence of 7 years in prison, a $15,000 fine, and restitution for damages and/or injuries sustained as a result of the pursuit.
