The newest member of Adventure Aquarium's penguin colony has a new name

CAMDEN, N.j. - Adventure Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey recently held an online contest to name their latest little blue penguin chick born on February 12.

The contest featured four Valentine-themed names to choose from:

Lovie, Rose, Valentina, and Venus.

More than 2,000 votes were received during the week-long contest and the results are now in!

The name chosen for the newest member of the aquarium's penguin colony is Lovie!

The little chick is expected to join the colony on exhibit next month.

The little blue penguin, originating from the coasts of Australia and New Zealand, is the smallest penguin species and gets its name from its slate-blue feathers.
