UPDATE: The hearing scheduled in North Whitehall Twp. for the fate of Foxy's Cradle postponed

UPDATE: The Township has postponed tonight's meeting.

Foxy's Cradle received word from their attorney that North Whitehall Township canceled the hearing for tonight due to the inability to accommodate the community rallying behind them. Their meeting room in North Whitehall Township does not have enough space to adequately hold everybody wishing to speak and witness the hearing, according to the Facebook post by Foxy's Cradle. The date will be rescheduled for November when the Orefield Middle School auditorium is available for public use. As soon as they are provided a new date, they will make it public.

They thank everyone for all your support.

The township confirmed receiving an overabundance of support e-mails and calls.

Foxy's Cradle in Coplay, PA needs your help.

According to a post on their Facebook page, they desperately need supporters to come together to save their nursery.

On Wednesday evening, October 18, they will find out if North Whitehall Township will permit them to continue their rescue efforts.

They've asked, " If we have ever helped you with a kitten, helped trap cats at your property, helped you obtain spay/neuter, have you adopted a kitten from us, if you support our team's efforts in any way, please, please come to the public hearing in support of our efforts".

They also stated, "The township is stating that since we do not breed cats, we need to be considered a kennel. We do not breed. We will NEVER allow breeding. Our team is here to pick up the pieces of irresponsible breeding. Our team acts as the mom cat would to countless orphans.".

Their team at Foxy's Cradle cares for the orphans when there is no mom cat to do so. "The operation is the same as a breeder but without a breeding mom cat", they said. "Because we do not have adult-breeding mom cats, the township wants our rescue efforts stopped", according to their Facebook post.

How you can help:

1: Attend the public hearing on Wednesday, October 18 at the North Whitehall Township Building located at 3256 Levans Rd., Coplay, PA 18037

You do not need to be a resident of the township to attend. It is a public hearing and all are welcome.

Meet in the parking lot at 6:30 PM. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM.

They encouraged supporters to wear their Foxy's Cradle attire.

If you do not have one and would like one, please contact Cheryl at 610-606-1442.

They also respectfully ask that all of their supporters conduct themselves in a polite and professional manner. Many people are passionate about rescues, but supporters who speak in a poor tone could do more harm than good for their cause.

2. Letters can be emailed to the township at amiller@northwhitehall.org or sent directly to North Whitehall Township Attn Aubrie Miller, 3257 Levans Rd., Coplay, PA 18037. They will also allow people to speak or hand in letters at the hearing.

They also announced that their Trick or Treat event this weekend will be held as planned. If they rule in their favor, they will add something special to the event as a celebratory thank you to our community for their support! They also stated that they are reading each and every text, email, message, and listening to every voicemail. They announced that they are inundated with support and are so incredibly grateful to all of you. They stated, "Please know how much we appreciate YOU and it may take us a while to reply but we will".

"Dozens of rescues across 5 states have offered their support, countless local rescues are sending board members tomorrow in support."

This meeting also has the potential to influence the future of animal rescues, they said.

Again, they thank everyone for all of the support, prayers, emails/letters sent, post shares, calls, and more. "I have always said that our supporters are the best and you all just confirmed it".

Their nursery is continuing on today in their normal routine and will be posting their latest intakes shortly.
