Upper Macungie Township Police investigate reports of loud boom/vibrations that shook the ground


The Upper Macungie Township Police Department received multiple calls from residents for a loud thud/boom that shook the ground in the area of the Olde Towne community (area of Ruppsville Road and Grange Road) in Upper Macungie Township this morning.






Officers searched through the neighborhood and surrounding community but were unable to find the source of the sound/vibration.


There were no reports of injuries or any destroyed structures from the incident.


In addition to a ground search, an aerial search was conducted with the assistance of the Lehigh County Drone Team, however, no damage was found, according to the police report.


The incident remains under investigation at this time.
