Weather Service issues a wind advisory for the Lehigh Valley, snow squalls possible across I-78 and I-80 corridors of NE PA and NW NJ, especially Southern Poconos

A wind advisory is in effect until 8 pm Monday for Delaware, northeast Maryland, most of New Jersey, and eastern Pennsylvania, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly New Jersey.

A snow squall warning had been issued through this afternoon for Northeastern Carbon County in northeastern Pennsylvania and Monroe County in northeastern Pennsylvania...

Winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected.

Important precautions to keep in mind:

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs or weak trees could be blown down and some power outages may result.

The National Weather Service says due to the very saturated ground, it may take less wind to produce tree damage.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.

Secure outdoor objects.
