On Tuesday, November 4th, Republican nominee, Dr. David M. Caruth is asking for your vote for the Parkland School Board.
With nearly two decades of marketing, corporate, and non-profit partner management as well as local, state, and federal contract experience, Dr. David Caruth is the right person for the job. He also has a vested interest in the students.
He wants you to know that he will fight for your children while protecting the values that matter the most in the community.
Dr. David Caruth's background - family and strong work ethic:
David Caruth was born into a Christian household and, at a young age, worked on his family’s farm and slaughterhouse in the Poconos. Hard work, dedication, and his Christian values were what David was raised on. He's also raising his children the way he was raised.

Dr. Caruth and his wife, Dianna, have two beautiful children. Both Ayden and Annabelle Grace attend Parkland. Annabelle Grace is a special needs child in the Parkland School District, and another one of the driving factors behind him running. He's advocated for his daughter Annabelle and other Autistic Children’s special education needs.
Dr. David Caruth's military and management background make him a very strong candidate for school board:
As a former Pennsylvania Army National guardsman, Dr. Caruth has been trained by the oldest, largest, and most elite organization in our country, the United States Army. He said, "In the Army, we live by 3 principles: Duty, Honor, & Country, and those principles guide my approach to both work and life".
Caruth describes himself as an honorable individual with strong values and a passion for giving back. His work experience outside of his military service demonstrates that he is a passionate, detail-oriented leader who strives for excellence and never backs down, and is a driving force within.
As a 19-year veteran of Verizon, Caruth serves as Senior Manager of Marketing, Strategy & Planning, where he develops national retention plans at their Global Corporate Headquarters in New Jersey. Over his two decades at Verizon, he's managed many areas of the business, with his most relevant experience related to the School Board being his extensive background in vendor management & contract negotiations with both other Fortune 500 companies and government entities alike (local, state, & federal), as well as several national non-profit organizations, notably the USO & WWP.
In addition, Caruth is the Vice Chairman of Verizon’s Military Employee Resource Group, known as VALOR.
Caruth also sits on the Board of Advisors of We Salute, a Veteran Benefit Corporation, volunteering his time for veteran advocacy.
Caruth also served as Vice President and Treasurer of Coldwater Crossings, a 600-home development in Breinigsville. With his current and past board roles, he is well-versed and experienced in handling internal board negotiations and interactions with both the public and employees to achieve their goals and address concerns.
Lastly, Caruth holds a BSBA in Marketing and Management, a Master's in Business Administration, and a Doctorate in Business Management. In his doctoral studies, he concentrated on Cognitive Psychology, expanding on the Diffusion of Innovations Theory and applying it to leadership decision-making.
Why Dr. David Caruth is running for Parkland School Board:
In the early 2010s, Dr. Caruth decided to move to the Lehigh Valley as it was a strategic location to his office in NJ and his family in the Poconos.
Upon reviewing the districts in the area, he said he selected Parkland to plant his roots. At the time, he said it had the best rankings and reviews of the public schools around.
Unfortunately, he said its status and reviews have gradually declined. His desire is for Parkland to return to its former glory, ensuring that his children, their classmates, and all students in the district have the opportunity to experience this same past glory as it started out. This fuels his strong passion and personal connection (through his children) to advocate for what they deserve.
When asked why Caruth is running for the Parkland School Board, he said, “I am honored to potentially have the opportunity to represent the vast needs of the voters and parents of our district.”
"As a parent of two young Parkland Trojans that are active in our community sports programs, I have a vested interest in ensuring our future generation is properly prepared for their adult lives, while at the same time, our taxpayers are not overburdened by consistent and future planned tax increases due to decisions historically made in the district.”
What others are saying about Dr. David M. Caruth:
“After thoughtful consideration, I’ve decided to step aside in the race for Parkland School Director and I’m proud to endorse David Caruth, moving forward,” said Patrick H. Foose, former Parkland School Board Director and Republican nominee for Upper Macungie Township Supervisor. “Now, I’m asking you to join me in supporting David Caruth, this Fall. He’s the right person to fight for our kids and protect the values that matter most to our community.”
Patrick H. Foose, former Parkland School Board Director and Republican nominee for Upper Macungie Township Supervisor
I've had the privilege of knowing David since Middle School. He has always been one of the kindest individuals. But you can't mistake David's kindness for weakness-- you see, he was an academic rival in every class I ever shared with him. And he went on to be one of the few other doctoral degrees to come from our class, besides myself. I've recently had the pleasure of working with David professionally in special education, and he is so invested in learning what can be improved in this area. As a fellow Autism Parent, this speaks so dearly to my heart and has been a wonderful collaboration. David is best suited for the Parkland School Board seat because David Caruth has a vested interest, as a Parkland parent himself, in children and their academic success here in Parkland. And he's dedicated to doing the work to know what's best. David's character is kind, considerate, transparent, collaborative, steadfast, and confident.

In the short time I've had the privilege of knowing Dr. David M. Caruth, I can tell you that he is not only kind, intelligent, and loves his family, but he is a very dedicated father and wants more than anything to be there for other families, students, and be a support to them. I've already experienced that firsthand when a parent reached out to me from Parkland with a concern, and I was able to direct her to him. I knew right away he would be able to help her.

Letter to the Editor: A Vote for Compassion and Accountability — Dr. David Caruth for Parkland School Board
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Dr. David Caruth for over 25 years, and I’ve also had the privilege of working alongside him as we’ve advocated for his daughter Annabelle, and other Autistic Children’s special education needs. Through that experience alone, I’ve seen his character, persistence, and genuine love for children shine through.
David is a parent who understands how deeply special education decisions affect families. He’s experienced the system firsthand — the waiting, the paperwork, and the fight for appropriate supports — and he has the courage to demand better.
He’s not just a voice for his own children but for every Parkland student who deserves to feel safe, included, and supported. With his background as a Ph.D. in Business Management, David brings both empathy and practical skill and the educational backdrop all qualities Parkland needs on its board now more than ever.
Please join me in voting for Dr. David Caruth — a true advocate for our children and our community.
Help join him in his fight for his daughter, for your son or daughter, for the Sons & Daughters of Parkland! Vote David Caruth on Nov 4th.
